Leviatan Group: outstanding performance in 2024, ambitious goals for 2025

After a remarkable performance in 2024, by completing one of the most complex public projects in Romania, 25% ahead of schedule, Leviatan Group has set ambitious goals for 2025, which include the development of new large-scale projects, the consolidation of its position on the Romanian construction market and the acceleration of the digitalization and technological innovation process across the group companies.

Over the past year, Leviatan Group has created a perfect balance between growth, innovation, and efficiency. This year, it aims to remain at the forefront of the Romanian construction sector by quickly adapting to industry changes and capitalizing on every opportunity.

2024, a year of performance and innovation for Leviatan Group

In 2024, Leviatan Group achieved record levels of production on projects nationwide and continued to invest in major innovation, technologization, and team development projects, which have produced excellent results on many levels.

“Last year, we started intensive learning and development programs for our specialists because we believe that people are at the heart of everything we do no matter how great the technological evolution is. In addition, we have invested a large proportion of our profits in technology development, from software to new practices and concepts that we have implemented to make people’s jobs easier and more efficient. The partnership with Microsoft is just one example. The incremental but very subtle changes make it easier for us to work every day. We will continue the programs we initiated last year to save time through artificial intelligence tools,” said Cătălin Podaru, CEO of Leviatan Group.

The Leviatan team’s results have been confirmed both in the large-scale project in Câmpia Turzii, which included expanding and modernizing the air base, and in the building consolidation projects in Bucharest, where cutting-edge technologies were used to achieve fast and high-quality results.

As for the large project for Câmpia Turzii, the year 2024 marked the high point of the development of Phase I of the F-16 aircraft infrastructure, with impressive volumes of work after 2023 saw the design part of the project fully completed. The project included, among other things, an extensive area of work for the realization of tracks and platforms, which require a high level of expertise and quality, being carried out by Romanian aviation standards, NATO standards, and those set by Romania’s American partner, for the optimal operation of F-16 aircraft.

These works were performed with an internationally renowned partner, the British company Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure, which was recognized for its considerable experience in carrying out infrastructure and logistics projects for the British Royal Air Force and its collaboration with NASA. The partnership with Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure has gone very well, and the British company has validated the performance and the quality of the work delivered by Leviatan Group.

This large-scale project also included an impressive volume of infrastructure works for the construction of sewage, rainwater, thermal, and electrical networks, which are a critical element in the current and future development of the base. In parallel, work has focused on the built-up area, which includes many complex facilities linked to the operation of the airport infrastructure.

“Our team completed most of the Design & Build projects ahead of schedule. I can say that all the elements we have used in the past to create best practices in rapid implementation by integrating the design process and the construction site have been very effective and have now clearly demonstrated their usefulness. Our colleagues who were part of the project were, beyond professional ethics and commitment with which they do things, much more motivated and understood the responsibility and importance of the project. I can say that, when working on such projects, professional patriotism has best defined the involvement of our team and stakeholders to achieve a very high level of quality,” explained Cătălin Podaru, CEO of Leviatan Group.

The accelerated pace of implementation of the infrastructure from Câmpia Turzii was significant in enabling the timely operation of the F-16 and F-35 aircraft when delivered to Romania. It is essential to mention that the development of the infrastructure is the key element which should be carried out at least 5 years before the aircraft are delivered, to allow all the processes to be carried out on time, from the creation of the specifications, the allocation of funds for the project, the procurement procedures and the project itself, to the training of the personnel who will manage the infrastructure.

Ambitious projects and goals for Leviatan Group in 2025

With many essential projects underway and bold objectives for the current year, Leviatan Group’s evolution continues at an accelerated pace. In terms of projects, the forefront is the completion of the Internal Commissioning phase for phase I of the project for the expansion and modernization of the Air Base in Câmpia Turzii, which includes internal quality checks according to very clear and detailed criteria to hand over the project to the beneficiary.

In the meantime, Leviatan Group’s specialists continue to develop projects in Bucharest, Borcea, Breaza, and Sibiu. They are also preparing for new projects that could soon be included in the group’s portfolio following the winning of several tenders, which are currently in the contestation phase. One of these projects consists of constructing the Pneumophthiology and Infectious Diseases Hospital in Brasov.

This period is also a time of internal consolidation for the Leviatan Group, which is a perfect opportunity to implement the lessons learned during the past year and optimize processes for future projects.

“We implemented the BIM (Building Information Modeling) standard a few years ago, and now our team is developing a new platform called CIM (Construction Information Management) that integrates all the flows around people. We’re also moving into an area we call AIM (Artificial Intelligence Management), where all the data flows and artificial intelligence tools are more manageable and make people work more efficiently. The most important challenge is the change of mindset. Still, once this change is made, the results and the joy with which people do certain things can increase by 40-50%,” said Cătălin Podaru, CEO of Leviatan Group.

Therefore, integrating artificial intelligence tools into workflows is one of Leviatan Group’s most important strategic development goals. This would be instrumental in optimally managing the continuous increase in volume, quality, and project requirements.

The construction field certainly has many flows to interconnect, which generates extraordinary opportunities that Leviatan’s specialists have set out to maximize. With a well-defined strategy and a strong commitment to innovation, Leviatan Group is ready to make 2025 a year of growth and excellence.
