Clinical Pneumology and Infectious Diseases Hospital of Brasov, a new project in the Leviatan Group portfolio
Leviatan Group, one of the most technologically advanced groups of Romanian construction companies, is expanding its portfolio with a new project in the medical field – the Clinical Pneumology and Infectious Diseases Hospital of Brasov. The project, valued at 368.6 million lei, excluding VAT, will contribute to the development of hospital infrastructure in Romania.
The Design & Build project will be undertaken by a consortium formed by Ubitech Construcții, Leviatan Design, and Copraag Entrepreneur, part of the Leviatan Group, together with Conim Partners, Mithras Build, and subcontracting partners. The design services will be delivered in 6 months, scheduled to start on November 11, 2025, and the construction works will take 22 months.
“The new Clinical Hospital for Pneumology and Infectious Diseases in Brasov will be a leading medical center, designed and built to high standards. It is a project with a major impact on the local community, which will benefit from safe and modern medical services. We are proud that our team will contribute to the achievement of such an important public health goal,” said Cătălin Podaru, CEO of Leviatan Group.
With a gross area of over 40,000 square meters, the hospital will be organized into a complex of four buildings and will have a total of 279 beds, of which 257 will be for continuous hospitalization and 22 for day hospitalization. Building A, the tallest, will have a height of B+G+4F and will house the infectious diseases, respiratory recovery, pulmonology, and palliative care departments. Building B will have a height of B+G+2F+technical floor and will include the digestive contagious diseases and pediatric infectious diseases departments, while buildings C and D, with a height of B+G+1F+partial technical floor, will consist of the intensive care unit and operating theatre, a green terrace flanked by the hospital buildings, as well as public outpatient and teaching areas.
The building will be constructed to nZEB+ standards (nearly zero energy building), integrating architectural and technical solutions that significantly reduce energy consumption. Modern LED lighting and heat recovery ventilation systems will be used, along with renewable energy sources. The hospital will benefit from photovoltaic panels and ground-water heat pumps, which will ensure energy supply from non-fossil sources.
Due to its scale and complexity, this project will meet the healthcare needs of the population of Brasov and the metropolitan area, strengthening the national hospital network and providing patients with access to modern, safe, and high-quality treatments.
